What’s your web address?

This is a question asked daily. With the Internet now 40 years old, we expect all companies and organizations to have a web address. Somewhere out there on the www is a website that will tell us what that organisation does.

We expect the site to inform us, reassure us, answer all our questions and  offer the products and services we need. More importantly, the site will tell us about the person or organization we are about to have contact with. It is a measure of your credibility.

The team at Caramel Design pride themselves on designing and delivering websites that are visually exciting and work! Websites that hold the attention and deliver the information, product or services as required. Websites that are easy to navigate with clear contact details.

At Carmel we design and build website for all budgets, from simple four page 'business card / who we are / what we do / contact us' type sites to Multipage Product Showcase websites and complex e-Commerce 'selling services or products” on the web sites.

We have recently completed the two stunning Tony Castro Marine and Tony Castro Aviation multipage showcase websites: www.tonycastroyachts.com and www.aviationstyling.com

Sweet new offices
After four years the team at Caramel Design have expanded from their studio in Hamble and have moved to more spacious premises in Station Road, Netley. "This move is a strong indication that the future for Caramel and our clients is on the up', says Graham Maclean, studio manager. "Our work load has snowballed as we continue to receive referrals and positive recommendations from our growing list of satisfied clients. Due to this increase in projects, we are now taking on more staff to help cope with the growing demand for our services.

"The designers at Caramel are all very excited about the move and the expanded working space" says Claire Nichols, senior designer. "The studio in Hamble was a great place to work but we were starting to find it a little too small and cramped, so the move to Netley is something we have all been looking forward to.

Keeping it local
Caramel have a number of very exciting web design projects that they are still keeping under wraps. 'I am only prepared to hint that one is definitely something for the girls, so watch this space', winks Grace Dunn, creative director.

Caramel's newly designed website, displaying past work and current clients is still attracting good hits and positive feedback. "Our own website took a while longer to complete "says Claire Harding, senior designer "As being designers we are always critical of our own work. We finally reached a point where we had to say enough is enough and get the website live. Otherwise we'd still be umm-ing and ahh-ing over it 6 months later. The website is now a great showcase for prospective clients to view our work, and like any good web site, it is continually evolving and is a work in progress.'

Caramel's new address is 22a Station Road, Netley Abbey, Southamptom So31 5AF. The telephone number remains the same - 023 8045 4749.

The team have recently completed a revamp of the Paragon Yachting website (paragonyachting.com), a local yacht delivery company, and are now creating a new brand for Urban Truant, an IT/marketing and yacht/rib charter company based in Hamble. The new identity and website will reflect the work/life balance that was fundamental in the creation of Urban Truant.

We have two more new websites to add to our portfolio. An Australian consortium has commissioned us to design a national online directory web site for the DIY home services market. The design is near to completion and the website is now at the build stage. The logo had to be open, friendly and trustworthy, and the site had to be very clear and functional. We look forward to showing off in our portfolio very soon. Work is also under way for the redesign of the Pavilion de Pampelonne website, a beautiful private holiday villa on the Cote d'Azur. The house is exquisite, but the website was not doing them justice.

We were commissioned by the Wild Group (formally known as Wet and Wild Graphics) to re-brand their identity. We thought the name wild was a wise choice as the ‘Wild’ was part of the company’s heritage and ‘Group’ was chosen to combine their two existing companies Wet and Wild Graphics and the Clothing Room, joining them under the same umbrella. The new Wild Group logo will be used as an icon giving the company a stronger identity in it’s niche branding market. We are really excited to be involved with the re-brand of such an iconic company.
